    Here is different and quiet

by shavy Updated Mar 4, 2015

After we touring the busiest national park of Plitvice we drove to there. We haven't bought the boat ticket so, we took our car and drove ourselves. Is about 15 kilometer from the main parking of Krka national park. Here is very quiet you can easily wander around at your own pace, you have the trail of your own. This is different part of the park.

Less waterfalls but has spectacular landscape and surrounding, so, still worth of visit. When you drive up here, at the entrance they will check your entry ticket so, be sure to keep them after you explore from the other park. If you don't want to drive, take the boat from the other side is easy and less time consumed

If you don't fear the cold waters, and don't bother sharing a small pond with hundreds... let's go.

We didn't, and didn't feel sorry, because we didn't feel that hot, and the sights compensated everything.

Even the steep stairs were easy to climb.

Apparently, (we left by car, from the top of the falls, but I don't know if there is an entrance there, or just a way out) there are two ways to reach the falls: by car, or by boat.

We did it the second way, and I think that is is the most pleasant way to do it. The boat ride is short and the landscape is beautiful. It's a pity we had no time to explore the upper lakes.

    The Park

Everybody looks at the water, with good reason, but the park is much more than some beautiful falls and lakes.

The rich flora, and, maybe, the fauna (I didn't notice anything special) helps to compose the harmony of the site, and shades the way up by the falls.

We were almost done in this park, and get exhausted already the heat and the walking thing we're so hard. But were very happy to see them and certainly it stay in our memory for always. This is something hard to resist and absolutely worth of visit when you are in the country.

I would come back but certainly not the summer months. Now, I know how it is visiting the parks in the summer. If you love nature this is a place to be. It is a nice thing to do walking all day around, where you surrounded by nature

More to see around the park

by shavy Written Aug 24, 2014

There are so many to see in one day inside the park, if you really want to enjoy the nature and surrounding then take your time to enjoy it. This part of park is less people the biggest crowd is where the water falls, but for us is no big problem how less crowded how better. The view still amazing and too many to discover. You can climb to the stairs on the rock where you have a nice view up there. But we don't want to do it, is very steeps, though probably worth it

    Inside the park

After a long walk you might be exhausted, but inside the park there were benches where you can rest. In the park there were some parts were you have to take the stairs. If you start from the main walking trail, you will go down to the lower part of the park. And thereafter you'll have to climb up the stairs back to the trail, and for some people with health condition could be annoying

The average tour of the park is almost a three hours walk. Throughout the middle and lower part of the park. If you have difficulty of walking you can take the boat, at the entrance of the park you can purchase a boat ticket if you don't want to walk so far to the trail

    More waterfalls

by shavy Written Aug 24, 2014

Waterfalls that have arisen naturally, the Krka river is a natural wonder, the water flows from the river not the soil. Through the narrow slits the river also flows underground, the karst is rich in minerals and oxygen and the river takes this on.

These are in turn deposited on small plants and in the course of the time, its walls and barriers occur and as a result the current falls of Krka. Each waterfall has its own charm and is definitely worth the visit. Along the waterfall are several paths and a bridge site, while a slow walk of about 60 min., You can experience the beauty

Mammals are found in Krka, but they are not common. Who in Np Krka is looking for mammals, it will be most interesting to miss 220 species of birds, 18 different species of fish and many amphibians. In the water there are many species to be found.

If you have a good look to the water sometimes you'll see something you didn't expect to see.
I know fish is everywhere in the park, but I wasn't expect to see water snake. As we saw some sign board during the walk, that snakes are present in this park. Wow, I was very anxious to that

Water falls is one of the main attractions in the park. The waterfalls in the National Park Krka should not be missed on a trip to Croatia. This park is named after the river Krka, with a length of 72.5 km is the 22nd river in Croatia. The falls themselves are a drop of 242 meters in seven steps.

The walking path is an easy route if you just follow (there's no other way) and takes you directly to the big waterfall where you can swim. From here you can also take a stroll through the park of about 3 hours, you have also to take into account many stairs here. You can also park further up from where you are taken by bus to the top of the falls.

    The lake

For tourists, the park is a piece of nature that is well worth a visit, although it is recommended not to do that over the weekend. The river Krka, the borders of which the park is located, struggles while many elevation bridging its way through the park, in the karst rock. The Skradinski buk, with 17 stages over a length of 400 meters, brings the water 46 feet below.

Over a large area, apparently marshy ground it nevertheless continues its way and suddenly river. The area is rich in wildlife and bird lovers will find a paradise. In the park are nearly 230 different species of birds. Very special is that you can participate in falconry

    Swimming in the park

Swimming is allowed in some parts of the park, like this one here.

Here is also a picnic area and a restaurant.

We were told that there is a small cave under one of these waterfalls where you can step in.
It would be nice to investigate a bit :)
