One of the best things about Dalmatia is the simple and delicious food. Local specialties include Bakalar (dried cod fish), Pasticada (beef stuffed with bacon and cooked in wine and spices), Brudet (different types of fish cooked with vegetables) and Cevapcici (originally from Turkey, though) to name just a few. Olive oil and red wine are important parts of the Dalmatian kitchen.
