Except for Hvar town, there is not much nightlife in Hvar. Most of the people come to relax, spend some time in tranquility, go to the beach or cycle. Still, there are two options for spending the evening. You can have a dinner or a glass of famous vine from the island in the nearby restaurant or conoba, or take a walk along the promenade by the sea waiting for the sunset.
But most of all we enjoyed our evening hikes to a hilltop Križ. It took us about 30 minutes from our apartment in Stari Grad and the path is well signed. From the top is a fantastic view of Stari Grad on one side, and we were rewarded with a magical sunset over Kabal Peninsula on the other side. One evening we change an almost daily routine and drove by car to the villages of Vrbanj, Svirče and Vrisnik. We especially liked the hillside village of Vrisnik and planned to be there for sunset. From the church square on the top is an amazing panoramic view of the nearby village of Svirče and the surroundings. And the sky was so beautiful that day!

Looking like laundry hanging outside, people sitting on pillows both side of the narrow street. However very modern, white bar inside!
Nice staff keeps company to the guests, open until last person, I suppose.
During summer 2006 Travel and Leisure wrote, this bar is "A cooler, less ostentatious alternative to Carpe Diem". I have to say Zimmer Frei is MUCH smaller and in my opinion MUCH nicer!
Experience Yourself!

An enoteca that specializes in regional wines, cheeses and cured meats. The father owns a little gourmet shop in the greenmarket, his son just opened Prust this summer. A beautiful space - carved stone, dark woods, red velvet chairs. The father and son truely want to share Hvar hopsitality.

Beside the ordinary mediterranean feeling, so everybody walking on the streets till midnight, we didn't see a good bar or anything in Jelsa. There was a pub named "Fast Food", from where we could hear good music, and there was a disco --- always empty

"Sidro" is located nicely on Fabrika with a view to the main square and Riva, making it a nice spot for a couple of drinks. They serve around 20 different cocktails.
