I seriously wish I had read Bev's review Before booking my wedding rehearsal dinner at this place. We had a destination wedding in Hvar which was fabulous except for this place. The food was good- I come from a family of foodies, but the service staff seemed hostile from the start which was strange. It was extremely difficult to communicate, and when we tried to order off the menu (as had been planned with the restaurant owner beforehand), they told us we were ordering 'wrong' and they would provide a mix of food that would be "enough" for the guests. By the second course everyone was beyond full, and we asked to have no more- still they brough two more courses which were largely untouched. We were charged MORE for the rehearsal dinner per head than for wedding party (which was fabulous at Zori restaurant). Keep in mind that because it was before the wedding there was 3 bottles of wine for the whole night. The staff justified the price by shoving a plaque in our place that listed it as one of the top 20 restaurants in Hvar, which meant nothing to us as we ate at many delightful places during our stay including Dolmatino. The experience left a very bad taste in my mouth, which was thankfully resolved the next day!
Lovely ambience in the old palace and nice surroundings in the garden dining area. Service was attentive - maybe a bit too much as we were there in a quiet evening. But the quality of the food and the cost were out of line - way too expensive for what is served. We enjoyed other Hvar Town restaurants much more during our recent visit.
Located near Golden Shell and Konoba Luna. An old noble family palace (houe). Had spaghetti fruta de mare, grilled squid and a liter of the house white. The grilled squid were excellent. Service was warm and polite - they also have a garden.
