    This shop was such a wonderful surprise. I noticed lovely display of olive oils, cheeses and other delicacies in front of it, and of course couldn't resist. They offer variety of superb homemade sausages, prosciutto, cheeses, olives, capers ...

    Father and son, lovely atmosphere, they offer you samples of everything you lay your hungry eyes on. For those of you coming in on huge lavish yachts, I noticed one crew member of such yacht ordering delicacies with a long list in his hands, to be delivered directly to pier, so that's possible, too.

    I bought sliced proschiutto and kulen - gently spicy and very tasty sausage which originates from continental region Slavonia.
    Words Of Wisdom: once you are here, buy plenty, it won't turn bad because you'll eat it too soon for sure.

    Tanja Curin makes fabulous pieces of jewelry that are sometimes real works of art, wearable sculptures.
    You do need an attitude to be able to wear some of them, so don't choose a piece to match your dress, but your spirit. Then go and buy appropriate dress.

    Street vendors offer variety of souvenirs and tacky stuff. If you enjoyed scents and flavors of Hvar, buy home something that will bring back sweet memories.

    Lavender oil is known to be good for sleeping and against moths, rosemary is invigorating and cleansing. Wild oregano will make you pizza sooo much better, honey from sage and rosemary might help fight cough.

    Tina is barba Ive's great granddaughter. She runs a very successful business of selling seashells. Each is evaluated by her high standards, and marked with price tag. Items are neatly displayed on the deck of one old fishing boat.
    If you even consider bargaining, be aware that she will outsmart you or bewitch you with her lovely eyes, so just enjoy it and then surrender. And she speaks all the languages she encounters, so don't play dumm tricks.

    A nice souvineers to buy here is lavendar products . They make a massage oil out of lavendar and olive oil ( don't try it on you salad though as I did thinking it was for eating!!) Lavender is well known for its wound healing, cleansing and toning properties !

    We were forced to wait in the harbour, under a bright sun. That's why we were pushed to the shades of the stalls lining the port, and offering a small variety of local products. Some perfumed bags were especially attractive to Fernanda, and business was inevitable... and cheap, thanks God.

    The sensitivity and thoughtfulness given to the items sold here puts this store a cut above the others pushing tourist slock. Elegant scarves, great drawings and watercolors, selective Croatian folk music cds are a few of the good items offered.

    There are several stands around the main square of Hvar town where you can find lavender (lavanda in Croatian).

    The Island is famous for its lavanda. Put it to your wardrobe to make it bug-free and have a nice smell ;)

    One small package costs 10 kunas (2007).
