    Bus #37

"Tridesetsedma" is a local name for the local bus on line 37 that connects Kastela with Solin and Split on the east and with Trogir on the west. The bus is almost an institution of its own, an integral part of the local identity. It takes the old road, passing near the centres of all Kastelas and stopping in all of them. Buses are old, noisy and uncomfortable but that is all part of the Kastela experience.

The bus starts in the 1st fare zone (Split), passes through the 2nd (Solin and part of Kastela), 3rd (most of Kastelas) and finally ends up in the 4th fare zone (Trogir). There is usually a conductor on board who will help you calculate how many fare zone you will pass and what kind of a ticket you will need.

Buses run in both directions every 20 minutes (30 on Sundays and holidays) from 4 am till midnight.

    Split airport

Split airport (code SPU) is actually located in Kastel Stafilic, the westernmost of seven Kastelas. So, reaching Kastela by plane is easy from Zagreb as well as from a number of other European destinations.

Note that the airport bus will just zoom through Kastela on its fastest way to center of Split. If you plan to visit Kastela it is better to walk through the parking lot and wait for the local bus #37 that runs every 20 minutes. The bus originates in Trogir, passes near the airport and then takes the slow road stopping in each of seven Kastelas on its way to Solin and Split.

    Marina Katela

The old dock of the now defunct chemical industry has been reconstructed and area converted into a flashy new marina. Besides docking your own yacht (if you own it) it is also possible to rent a boat here - for details you will have to check the link below.
