Makarska Tourist Traps

It can be quiet expensive to hire out sun loungers and umbrella's every day if you are staying here for more than a few days.
One time we couldn't find the dude to pay so we took one anyway hoping he would come over but someone who had already booked that one came over and went mad.
Another time a guy came up ranting that we had sent him off the previous day to get an umbrella and then disappeared and we hadn't even gone to the beach that day.
So basically hiring is a hassle.

Unique Suggestions: I'd recommend buying a fold up matress, they are cheap and fold up quite small and are handy for carrying wet towels etc back to hotel. At least then you only need to worry about shade

Fun Alternatives: Better than getting an umbrella is getting some of the natural shade under the overhanging trees. If you aren't on the beach early enough then walking west leads you to a wooded area which is right on the beach and has lots of shade and spaces
