by acemj The bus between Split and Trogir is #37 and, as of February 2004, costs 18 Kuna (about $3) each way. For some reason it took about 45 minutes to get there from Split and only about a half hour returning in the evening. It's just a city bus, but it was fairly comfortable. Remember, in Split you'll want to catch the bus from the Suburban Bus Station a ten minute walk north of the Old Town. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

Airport is about 10 minutes driving by car from Trogir. There is a bus stop just in front of the airport. Bus no. is 37 and drives from Trogir to Split and back. First bus is at 4.00 and last one is at 23.30. It passes the airport every 20 minutes. You pay the ticket in the bus and costs approx. 1 euro to Trogir. There is also one private bus company that stops at the same bus stop as no.37. The name is "Posa", but they only stop at the airport few times a day (about 12.30, 14.30 and 16.30). Taxi's are also available on the airport but I'm not sure about the prices. Theme: Bus

Suburban Bus Station, Split (with no.37 bus) by BlueLlama I found the information on getting to Trogir from Split online is fairly incomplete - no mention of a coach at all, for example. So, this is my definitive guide: Coach - while the no.37 bus is always named as the way to get to Trogir, the coach is actually quicker. In Split, buy your ticket from the office next at the central bus station, located by the ferry terminal. You can pick up a timetable and get information here too. The trip costs around 30 kuna and takes 30 minutes to get to Trogir. More or less every half an hour, but check the timetable. Bizarrely, however, the timetable didn't specify what time the coach picks up again in Trogir as the town is just a stop on the way to Sibenik - ask the driver before you get off in Trogir as there was noone to ask on arrival. Bus - I ended up taking the 37 back. Under 20 kunas each way, but the bus takes a lot longer. Just under an hour, although everywhere on the net says it's around 30 minutes. It takes a more tortuous and less attractive route than the coach (it stops at the airport for example) and is not quite so comfortable. In Split, you need to go to the Suburban Bus Station, which about 10 minutes north of Diocletian's Palace. Goes every half hour. Both bus and coach drop off opposite the bridge that leads into the town centre on arrival in Trogir and pick up from the bus station on the other side of the road for the journey to Split.

There is a direct bus from Split to Trogir and takes about 45 minutes. Follow the shore line across from the harbor is the bus station. Make sure to take the same direct bus back to Split instead of the local bus as it takes longer and cost more. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

From Trogir is possible to get to Zadar by bus (I quess is the national bus transportation), but the trip is not exactly short (about 3 hours one way) and the price is 78 kuna (about 11-12 euro, very cheap). The problem is with the bus schedule: they say is coming every 30 minutes; we wait 2 hours. In the end bus came, but this made us to change the itinerary. We wanted to see Zadar and to return to stop also to Šibenik. We mist Šibenik because was too late :( The landscapes are incredible, especialy the Biograd-Zadar Riviera Theme: Bus

by acemj Along the Riva (the waterfront promenade) you'll find some remains of the town walls. Visiting Trogir is possible in one day and strolling along the Riva and soaking in the atmosphere is a must. The views across the small Trogir Channel to the island of Ciovo are great and you can walk across the small bridge to get the best perspective for taking photos. Leave a Comment

by acemj Again, the word Riva in Croatian refers to the promenade running along the waterfront and in Trogir it is particularly peaceful and beautiful. The Riva itself is wide and accommodating to walkers and along the way, you'll be able to see Kamerlengo Fortress, the Dominican Church, the Town Gate and a number of lovely cafes to grab a bite or simply sip a coffee while watching the world go by. by acemj Trogir's main square is also a good place to begin your exploration of the town. The cathedral is located here as well as the Cipiko Palace, a Venetian mansion that dates to the 15th century. You'll also find the Town Loggia and its interesting clock tower and just off the square you'll find the Church of St. John the Baptist, which now houses a display of sacred art.
