Embark yourself, doesn't matter if small or big boat, the one which is slow or fast, sailing boat or rocket one, it is so irelevant when here.
Kornati is huge group with over 200 islands and islets positioned in a relatively small area in the central part of Dalmatia. Most of the islands are permanently uninhabited, some of them during the summer season only and not more than few are inhabited. Rich people, from all over the world would like to buy some of the islands but I hope it wont happened.

It is possible to rent an apartment in such a place. That should be great ! That can be found in agencies in Zadar or in Murter. A small boat will bring you to your place with enough food and drink for your stay and will pick you at the end of your stay.

The very next to be noticed is the amazing structure of the roks. Some of them look almost like being built by the mysterious civilisation, dissappeared from the earth who knows when. Marvellous nature have created here some of their most stunning pages.

There is bridge which connects islands of Ugljan and Pašman in the Zadar's archipelago and it is the closest way to Kornati if departing from Zadar or its surroundings. It might be coloquially called the gate to Kornati and Telašcica. Do not miss both of this destinations when in area of Zadar.

First thing one can noticed around is the predominate blue colour, light blue above and deep blue sea-water which is so characteristic for the Adriatic sea. Such a intensive blue colour exist only if the water is crystal clear.

The landscape is always the same and always changing. In spring, it was full of flowers (we were not here, but I know !). Sheep had plenty to eat and they did ! In summer, everything is burned out and there are tourists (few) instead of sheep : they don't need any green grass !!

Dry stonewalls are everywhere in the Kornati. They were built along the centuries and kept in good condition by the shepherds for their flocks.
In the foreground, an enclosure for the cattle at night can be seen.

Fresh water is scarce on the islands. If it is green in summer, be sure there is soft water that has accumulate in the spot ! May be it is not drinkable, but it is in the soil and in quantities that allow the vegetation to grow.

Shepherds built all these walls in order to allow the cattle to graze in the right place and not in the neighbors place !. In spring there is plenty of grass and flowers. In summer, everything is dry.

The see is blue and flat, the sun is shining ! A desert cove, well sheltered is all we need to anchor ! Do not stay at sea level, you must climb on the hills to get a better view of the cove and the surrounding islands.
