In the high season, parking around the old Zadar city is always difficult. We made several turns but failed to find any parking space. We felt we should look for a hotel and come back to the old city either by foot or by bus. Actually, we found an excellent hotel and restaurant at Puntamika, a bit far to walk. The big luck was that there was a shuttle boat every other hour that sailed 200 m from the hotel and that lead directly on the pier of the old city (see my hotel tip). the best way to move around from Zadar and mostly Croatia is by bus The rail network is slower and less efficient The main bus central station is really good pointed...every dock has the name of "Peron" and every coach has its destintion... People dont use to talk so much english but at the sell tickets point you wont have any trouble talking in english Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

by AndreasK Croatia is a land of over 1000 islands, and most of them (170) are scattered in this area. There are several parallel rows of islands stretching along the coast, from Pag in the northwest to Vrgada in the southeast. They are covered with a dense Mediterranean vegetation, and there are also olive groves, vineyards and pine forests. Some of them are inhabited. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by svenko Zadar is on the Adriatic cost which means that you can follow this girl & come in a conoe. Easier way is plane (there is an airport!), bus, car or train. And of course, by every kind of boat. On foot, by local bus, by ferry, ships & hydrofoils to many islands. On bike also! Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Zadar is good place to start Your bustrip to Plitvice Lakes. It took under 3 hours by bus, but be aware there are not too many departures daily (July 2006 only two in the morning) and buses can be quite booked up (coming from Split - if You start from Split, You have to wake up very early, the departures from Zadar were around 9 am). Bus station in Zadar is about 15 minutes walk from the town centre; or You can take a local bus (number 5). Station is next to street called Ante Starcevica. Theme: Bus
