Trash Laying Around and Overflowing

Overflowing trash containers around the waterside

There were a number of trash bins/containers that needed to be emptied, and it did not seem like that happens often. It surely detracts form the appeal of the town to see this type of occurance without some remediation by the local administrative leaders.

Stay out of the Park-Run Down-Dangerous

Wooded and overgrown shrubbery

This is a place that I would only go to once to see the devastation and lack of maintenance, and wonder why the town that is claimed to have "soul" and "irresistible" would let such a smear on the city character go to a disappointing condition.
No doubt in my mind that also in the evening when it is dark, there could be trouble for tourists or locals here for muggings/attacks. There are a lot of winding paths around to the top, and they may hold a scary situation around every one. Even during the daytime, I was wary of what could happen here with a drunk of panhandler coming along and starting a problem.

Building in the park defaced

There is a university here, and maybe those students do the damage to the buildings and especially in the main park on the south end by Trg Put Bunara called Perivoj Kraljice. This was a terrible distration form what they try to promote as a town with "soul". Not hardly with this type of lack of pride. It was very trashy and run down, and would hesitate to be in the park after daylight hours.

The bridge ("..over troubled water")

There is a bridge in Zadar's port which connects the old core of the town and the new built city which is situated on the mainland. It serves for the people's traffic only.
If visiting Zadar in the winter time, during the very strong wind called "bura", do not use it for acrossing side to side, it might be very dangerous. "Bura" can reach speed over 150 km/hour and you are risking to finish in the water if acrossing the bridge.
