Outstanding place and owners
Brela is set at the foot of the mountains, so prepare yourself to climb up and down to go from your accommodation to the beach. Restaurants and shops close for the winter at the end of September.
Another piece of heaven in Croatia
When you need relaxation and quiet place to rest your soul and body, go to Croatia wellness center in luxury Bluesun hotel Soline in Brela.
They have everything you need there. Beautiful quiet atmosphere, all sorts of baths, wide range of diferent masages.
After few hours you will feel like a brand new person, and the skin is perfect - like in newborn child.
Local meat and seafood restaurant, with touch of class.Food so fresh and tasty, it doesn't get any better than this.Ambiance of an old family ranch, very well preserved. Courtyard still has two old wells.Dinner from the terrace with beautyfull sunset views.Waiters very friendly and helpfull while ordering.Don't mistake it for another restaurant...more
Located in the mountain range overlooking Brela in anold stone house this restaurant provides breathtakingviews of Brela and the islands. Serves traditionalDalmatian food and hearty local wine. Be sure toreserve in advance. Open daily dinner only grilled fish and local winemore
The owners of this bar spent a significant time living in Rio. Impressed with the Rio beach bar scene, they wanted to bring a bit of this back to their native Brela. You will be forgiven for forgetting at times that you are actually in Brela and not in Rio. DJ Jakob sets the atmosphere with his mix of lounge funk Brazilian-inspired tunes. Though the Beach Bar is open during the day the real fun begins after 21 h. You will find it difficult to resist not partaking in the beach dancing or even the late-night skinny dipping that likely results from one too many Capriahnas.
Dress Code: Casual, beach wear
Stay away from Baska Voda, its trashy and crowded, with lots of package tourists. Also the main road cuts right through the town next to the main beach so you are inhaling car fumes while swimming. Brela is the place to stay. Much chicer and pleasant without the crowds.
Unique Suggestions: Try and find an alternative in Brela, Tucepi or Krvavica.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: you are in the Med and the sun can be strong (if you have ever been to the Carribbean you know what I mean). Bring some good sun screen (I would not go below an 8 or 10 SPF) and you are ready to go. And do yourself a favor, don't bring to cheap stuff. Treat yourself and get some good cream. It makes all the difference, eat your heart out Mariah.
I was walking around and I took some photoes. It was discovery for me and all of my friends when I came home and we saw these magic hidden spots of Adriatic coast.
Favorite thing: March is a great time to go for a gentle hike through Donja Brela -- no package holiday tourists to jostle with, no bikini crowds -- just a chill place. Not many restaurants are open at this time of the year, but the kavanas (coffee bars) are open and you can chat easily with the locals.
