    The red lake can only be seen from the small viewing platform next to the road. Numerous divers have tried to find the bottom of the red lake, until now the have only succeeded to determine that the red lake continues into a cave 280 meter below the surface. A funny think about the red lake is that is almost impossible to throw a stone into the water, so if you plan to make holiday in Croatia and are close to Imotski, maybe you should give a try.

    Modro jezero or Blue lake is something you need to see if you go to Imotski. Its proximity to Imotski and easy access to the constantly changing water level made this natural phenomenon a place that has been captured forever in people hearths, evoking many nice memories.

    Topana - Imotski Fortress

    Topana

    Topana is more than a millenium old fortress.
    Built on the eastern cliffs of Modro Jezero it was unconquerable before the advent of modern warfare.
    It is open all year long and offers beautiful views from its walls.

    Imotski county has been blessed with spectacular nature, long history, and resilient people. The Adriatic sea is just 6 miles away from Imotski by air located behind, or for the rest of the world in front of Biokovo mountain which is always in the view. In the middle of the Vrljika river flows through Imotski valley. Several of the villages are scattered on the outside of the valley. Imotski is situated on the Podi hill at the northern side. There are numerous lakes along the western and northern sides of the valley and in the valley, Modro and Red lakes being the most famous. The nature could hardly be any better.Check out the pictures and visit Imotski!
