Opatija is a traditional and highly-ranked destination on the tourism map of the Republic of Croatia, as well a prestigious destination on the signpost of western Kvarner. This small city, with about 10.000 inhabitants, has an enviable network of tourist activities.
Opatija was the very first to go in for tourism with a health and fitness slant, and now offers medically programmed vacations in a tradition maintained by Thalassotherapia.
It is a place with a large number of very quality hotels and most of them might be called the traditional ones.
Yes, this is Adriatic the most beautiful and cleanest sea in the Mediterranean area. Since I am Croat you may considere me too subjective, however, this is not my opinion only. Most of my friends from abroad are the very same opinion too.
Fondest memory: The seashore of Adriatic offers numerous beaches where you can be all alone. This one is situated in the vicinity of the hotel Kvarner.
We have booked with our travel agent excursions at Plitvice, Pula, Rovinj, Porec, Pazin, all of them being good occasions to discover beautiful places and nice people too.
The signs of just finished war were not so visible here...
