There are flights with Croatia Airlines from Munich, Vienna and Zürich, although via Zagreb to Pula and Rijeka.

I took the bus up from Opatija. It's a windy trip and I was happy to leave the driving to someone else and just enjoy the spectacular scenery out of the window!

You can combine train and Bus to reach Pula from Rijeka or come directly by train from the slowenian boarder
