If you are not fit, and/or afraid of heights, this may not be for you. IN addition to that the stairs look like they still are the original from 1651; really. And they are very narrow, so size matters/ Take a look and decide for yourself.

    Slippery streets.

The streets in the old part of Rovinj are steep and also very slippery, so be careful and don´t walk too fast when you are making your way to the top of the town or back doan again for that matter.
This is old streets that has been polished by the many feet that has walked over them the past few centuries and you don´t want to end up in hospital when you are suppose to be on holiday.

    Laundry Day

Although during the week i often saw laundry hanging to dry - common site in old town - there seemed to be a big increase in laundry day on Thursday - ie - this looks like official laundry day.
I read somewhere that you have to beware of a bucket of dirty water flying out from upstairs window when it is laundry day - so - You Are Warned!

Be extremely careful on the streets - especially in the old town - the Cobbles are very slippery when dry so goodness knows what it will be like when it rains.
Even the flat paving slabs look like they can be dangerous

    Men beware

Pastrik even better looking waiters than me

This restaurant oh where can I start - great atmosphere, busy every night, good service and usually quick and cheaper than most but I have to warn you that this place has the best looking group of men serving tables. A beauty of males is the most appropriate collective noun I feel. Women folk just look in awe and menfolk like me look insignificant and looking for the nearest plastic surgeon. Take your lady there at your peril. Location close to the harbour crossing to Red Island, tables on the terrace overlook the harbour. I can just imagine the interview for this job and how I'd be rejected - the male ego cannot take it :(

Narrow streets of the old core

When strolling in the old core of the town, you have to watch out because the sudden drop of the water might heat you from above. It might happen to you only if the laundy day. In such a case, the girl from above should tell you "skužaj" (sorry), sending a very big smile.

A camping ground in Rovinj, Croatia

If you arrive in Rovinj without accomodation, be prepared to pay high money for a room ! The room itself is not that expensive but the Tourist Agencies have put their own TAX on these rooms/houses. Stupid or what ?!

You have to stay MINIMUM 3 nights, if not you have to pay up to 50% to 100% supplement TAX ! Stupid or what ?!

The choice is yours of course, as long as you want a comfortability in one of the most beautiful places in Croatia....

I stayed at a camping ground (photo on the left ) with an experience so good that I might be coming to Rovinj again.

    AVOID THIS PLACE !

There is no danger whatsoever in Rovinj but I should warn you about some camping grounds in Rovinj, if you intend to stay there.

Camping Valdaliso: They DO NOT accept tarvellers WITHOUT tents & very expensive for a camp ground...23 to 38 Euros.

Camping Monsena: (Photo on the left...) This is a Nudist Campground. They also DO NOT accept travellers WITHOUT tent.
