Top Istria hotels
Limski Kanal (Limski Fjord) - a narrow long for more than 10 kilometers arm of the Adriatic sea. A big part of it you can see from the road between Porec and Rovinj (~ 15 km from both sides). There is a special view-tower (4 kuna ~0,5 euro / person), but without going on there you can enjoy the view just down from the hill.
OK, Istria is hilly and almost on top of every major hill there is a "fortressed" town. A must do tour starts from the city of Buzet, just after Uèka tunnel, continue into Mirna river valley, check out Motovun, Groznjan and other little cities and take the road to Umag (really nice if you want to rally a bit). On the way you can take de-tours to all the famous Istrian wineries on the way such as Kozlovic and near Umag is Degrassi. From Umag continue to Poreè, Rovinj and Pula. On the way is one of my fav wineries- Matosevic. All the wineries usually offer domestically produces dried ham and cheese (Istarski pršut i sir) and the wines are very good. If possible, do the tour on bikes.
