Along the highway from Umag you will find many sellers hawking their crafts and foods. In particular you can find chili peppers, onions, and garlic, fruits that are in season, liquors, and juices. We even stopped at several cheese dealers who make their own crafted cheeses.
They are out there even on Sundays.
What to buy: Garlic woven together for a wall hanging back home.
What to pay: Not expensive
We tasted several brands of Croatian beer. Favorit tasted so good that we decided to bring it home and begin searching to find it in a store where we live near Venice. I am hoping to find a supplier because this beer has a great taste, and the after taste is what I prefer, barley, grain and less hopps.
If you dine in Croatia, try it.
What to buy: I came home with a load of a Croatian Beer called Favorit. It is too bad we cannot find this beer in Northern Italy. I am not a big beer drinker, but this one was worth taking notice.
What to pay: Cheaper than most beers in Italy and there are two liter bottles for those guzzlers who need a bit more!
