Favorite thing: Koriolan Cipiko, from a famous family of Trogir, a commander in the Levante wars, about which he also wrote, was the first to build a castle in the sea for protection from intruders. He built a castle which was a combination of fortress and a palace. It was separated from the coast by a channel and connected to it with a moveable bridge.
The citadel was restored in 1492 after a fire. On the coastal side it looks like a mansion and in the middle of it is a cloister with arcades.
In Kastel Stari is also a small Renaissance church of St. Joseph and the Baroque parish church.
