croisbeauty Says: From the deposits of the semicave at Krapina it was possible to recover a total of 650 pieces of bones and teeth of prehistiric man, so that as to the number of osteologic remains this palaenthropologic finding-site is the richest and largest in the world.
croisbeauty Says: The remains were accompanied by artefacts of the Mousterian Culture, hearths, bones and teeth of numerous extinct animals.
croisbeauty Says: The remains were discovered in deposits from the Upper Section of the Glacial Period in a semicave on Husnjak Hill.
croisbeauty Says: Remains of the Krapina prehistoric man, Homo sapiens neanderthalensis, were discovered in 1899 in a semi-cave on Husnjak hill at Krapina. On the picture there are reconstructions of the cave-man.
croisbeauty Says: The Castle of Miljana belonged to a noble family of Ratkay. It is situated about 20 kilometers north of Krapina, and is one of the best preserved castles in Croatia. Since it is a private property now, the public visitings are limitated and has to be announced.
