Favorite thing: Novi Vinodolski is, by its structure, a very typical coastal Mediterranean town. Its old core is raised on a small hill above the sea-shore with the church and main square in the central position. A short and narrow streets twist towards the harbour which was, in the past times, the only connection to the other places along Adriatic.

Favorite thing: The small port of Novi Vinodolski where I used fishing and sometimes swiming. Although it is a port, the water is clear and there was a lot of fish there.
The most interesting event from the past was the arriving of the line-ship, everybody used to come into the port watching who is arriving and who departing the town.
Fondest memory: When you live in such a small coastal place, everything depends of the sea. It is the first thing you look at in the morning, and the last thing you see before going to sleep. The sea-water can tell you everything you need, should it be nice sunny day or not, should you stay at home or going out, should you have plenty of food on your table..., and many more.

Favorite thing: The main square, coloquially called "Placa" (coming from italian piazza), is the biggest open space in the town and the centre for the local administrative buildings.
It is the place where locals gather around after the daily work, exchanging the news, informations or just to meet and chat.
Fondest memory: I still remeber scenes from my childhood here; Sunday promenades with the family, the taste of the ice-cream on my lips and the Big Band playing music loudly. Hm, those were the days.
