New sport for adrenaline junkies, I'm afraid my elder daughter got "infected", too!
Great fun, you can just enjoy gliding and doing simple curves, but some get tempted into performing such acrobatic jumps!
Well, this picture was taken during Croatian and Slovenian Championship in September 2004, so this guy is a real pro - you should not loose your courage, nobody expects you to do that sort of stuff on your first ride. Maybe on your third.
If you don't know what wakeboarding is,
Robi will show you. Just click on those Video boxes, I'd recommend the second video.
Equipment: You can rent all the equipment at the spot, and there are the instructors ready to help you!

The main beach in Baska is cleverly named Vela Plaza - Large Beach. It is a very long pebbly beach with gorgeous views towards the continent.
There are also many smaller beaches near Baska, some on the coast towards Stara Baska are a bit more difficult to reach - either by boat or on foot, but I think it's worth the effort if you don't like the crowds and don't mind not having bars and shops nearby.
Equipment: On it's left side you can rent some funny water "vehicles", windsurfs, go parasailing, waterskiing or take the crazy banana ride.

The sea surrounding island Krk hides some wonderful underwater landscapes, which is probably the reason there are so many diving schools on the island. Many are actually run by foreign companies, so language should not be a problem.
Equipment: All diving schools also offer diving equipment for rent.

Riding school offers horseback riding for children and adults. Their horses are calm and lazy, so even beginners can safely try riding. After learning basics, you can join a group for horseback trekking through woods and fields - lovely scenery! Do not expect high class fancy equipment, you can use their helmets (optional). Bring your water/drinks, they have limited supply for horses and washing hands. Electricity generator allows evening riding. One hour riding school or trekking costs 100 Kunas, available short rides for kids, longer trekking expedition with larger group costs less per hour.
You can just stop by, but during high season it is much better to call and set the hour, especially for trekking on horses.

Punat bay is large and round, with one narrow passage to the open sea. This makes it a perfect place for windsurfing since it is often windy but without large waves. Avoid busy area close to the marina and sailing route! If anyone gets tired and unable to return to the starting point, there are usually some merciful captains ready to help.
