Church of St. Lucy
The Church of St. Lucy (Jurandvor near Baška) was build at the end of the 9th century by Benedictine Glagolitic users, on the remain of a Roman villa. This is an early romanesque church, single-naved building with the bell-tower added beside the facade and built from stone-carvings. In this church was discovered Baška Tablet - the first Croatian Glagolitic incised monument, from c. 1100. In the text of the Tablet abbot Držiha claimed that the Croatian King Zvonimir (1076-1089) donated a plot of land to the church of St. Lucy in the presence of three witnesses. Baška Tablet provides evidence that the Kuarner Area belonged to the part of King Zvonimirs Croatia. Croatian name is for the first time mentioned in Croatian language.
Text of the Baška Tablet
I, in the name of Father and Son and the Holy Spirit, I abbot Držiha, wrote this about the plot of land which was given by Zvonimir, the Croatian King, in his days to St. Lucy and witnesses are: Desimir, Prefect of Krbava, Martin in Lika, Pribineža, clerk in Vinodol, Jacob on the island. If anyone denies it, let him be cursed by God and 12 apostles and 4 evangelists and St. Lucy. That anyone who lives here prays God for them. I abbot Dobrovit built this church with my nine brethren at the time of Prince Kosmat who ruled his Country. In those days Mikula was in Otočac with St. Lucy together.
Kosljun is situated within Puntarska Draga bay. Franciscan Monastery was built from 15th century on ruins of Benedictine Monastery. The Monastery was for centuries important for Krk's cultural and spiritual life. The first Croatian Gymnasium in this area was established here in 1894.
There is a sacral museum exhibition of rare and exquisite books and text rolls (oldest from 11th century), paintings and sculptures. .

Ba?ka - crkva Svetoga Trojstva
The parish church of the Holy Trinity, (crkva Svetoga Trojstva), was built in Baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century. The interior holds eight altars, one of it dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The pictures that decorate the church are works of well known painters, Fran Juric, Paulo Campso and Jacopo Palma.
The church holds a valuable gift from the Dukes of Krk, the Frankopans, an artistically worked silver cross.

This is such a shiny altar. It really takes your eyes out. It looks like it is real gold, I never found out, but my guesses are it's only covered with thin sheets of gold, or it would be a great treasure on the island of Krk :)
This church.. I forgot the name.. is a really nice one with a monastery and a museum... a few kilometers away from Malinska
