The small village of Vrbnik isn't very touristy destination, in fact, it is barely known and out of the major routes. Yet, it is worth of visiting and exploring, offering charming mediterranean settlement of completely urban structure.
Besides, the village of Vrbnik is one of the centers for researching and studing the glagolitic alphabet, the oldest Slavic script.
This small town is my favourite place on the island. It is situated on the top of the steep rock above the see. It is not such a tourist place as other places on the island of Krk. To feel the natural beauty of the island, come out of high season (it is too crowded in the high season). I was there twice in June, when you can already swim, and the beaches are almost empty.
