Punat is a village some km. far from Krk town. The only reason to go there is to take a boat to Kosljun Island to visit the Franciscan monastery.
In Punat there are several restaurants, cafes and shops.

Northern Adriatic, in particularly the Kvarner Bay, is famous for very strong north-eastern wind called "bura". Sometimes, especially in the winter time, this wind attain speed of over 180 km and the bridge has to be closed for traffic for security reason.
I do not recall if this ever occured in the summer time.
