Fish, Animals & Wildlife, Plitvicka Jezera National Park
As you are walking on the wooden footpaths around the lakes ,you will see lots of trout! Everywhere! You can not miss them and some of them are huge!
Fondest memory: I am guessing these trout are probably quite happy. Why? Because they are safe. Fishing is prohibitted in the park. :-)
While walking around the park, look around! There's so much life flying, swimming, floating, ... Very relaxing! We saw fish (looked like salmon, we are still guessing what it was), dragonflies, salamanders, very few birds, bumble bees, ...
Fondest memory: When I am away from the NP (which is like 99.9999% of the time) I miss the blue-ness of the lakes the most, together with the dragonflies that are all over the place. Here's a picture that my friend took: he went really close by, just a few inches from the subject, and took this picture.
Favorite thing: The lakes are very still, but sometimes there are slight, mild waves that only make the atmosphere more enchanting. Trouts are always gathered around the shore, expecting food from passers by. Some pieces are well fed and quite fat! You can throw them pieces of food, they will fight over it like lions!
Plitvice lakes are full of trouts. They live in fresh running waters only, so it's another proof how clear and clean plitvice are.
This photo looks as if taken underwater. But I took it gazing into the lake.
Plitvice should be experienced LIVE, photos and stories just don't do the justice.
