 | Plitvicka Jezera National Park Waterfalls & Cascades Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 22 | | Here what exist is reality, the sources, rivers and tributaries of the waters, then the soft stone and the hard, the expanses of water and forest. The falls endure, they live, they grow and collapse, they construct and deconstruct their peaks and their bed, they bubble and mirror, and turn into a fine spray of droplets.

The unexpected sight of the lakes, and the little further off, the view of the noisy cascade of the falls of the Plitvice brook will astonish everyone with the contrast, the entire unexpectedness of it, in the midst of all this stone, surrounded with its forest greenery. The lakes are constantly fed by the streams of Bijela rijeka (White river), Crna rijeka (Black river) and Rjecica (Brook), from the subterranean retentions of the karst hinterland.

Water is synonym for life, for prosperity and here in the stony reality of Plitvice it is a miracle and a builder. Water gives health, it renews and changes, it is the first mother of the grass, the flowers and the forest, of everything that burgeons and grows, everything that multiplies, of everything that lives in these, as they were called, "devil's gardens".
This is the area in between Gradinsko and Galovac Lakes, which is also rich of small waterfalls. Leave a Comment |
There are many watrefalls all over Plitvice. Most of them are at the cascades when lakes mend from one to the another, but sometimes they are in between, just appearing and disappearing out of nowhere! Leave a Comment |
Waterfalls can be found everywhere, the best is when they are above a turquoise still lake, blending in vegetation around. Leave a Comment |
at so many places, small steams of water ran down just besides the path .
plenty of very tiny streams of water were running through the forests, you may just step across them with a single step, before the next stream would appear again... ...a very beautiful and unique landscape Leave a Comment |
Veliki prštavci means the sputtering waterfall. It is situated in the area of the Upper Lakes nearby Galovacki buk. The nature has created a kind of amphitheatre with a curtain of falls. This is probably one of the most impressive scene you can see in National Park of Plitvice Leave a Comment |
I am regularly visiting National Park, at least twice a year, but it never looks the same. Sometimes it depend wether the sun is shining or not, but mostly it depend on the water. The very same spot looks different in the spring and summer time. In my experience month of May is the best time to visit Plitvice. Leave a Comment |
Mali Prštavac, (the Small Thunder) waterfalls is located in the area of the Upper Lakes, right next to its "big brother". The thunder of waterfalls you can hear is even more intense then around Veliki Prštavac. Do not approach to it too close in the cold days because very soon you be completely wet. Leave a Comment |
The area of Burget is an mix of still water and lots of small waterfalls and cascades. It is a kind of labyrint with many wooden paths going up and down and around. There is no place for panic here, any path you chose it lead you to the right place. Leave a Comment |
