There are many restaurants or places to have meals outside the Park, and I happened to go there. Good food and great surroundings.

There is a pension too, but because I didn't stay there, just for lunch, I can't give an opinion/recommendation.

??: Local Restaurant for Tour Coaches

The evening meal was provided by the tour company and after walking the national park for a full day we were wanting a good meal. We went on a 15 minute drive to reach our restaurant at about 7pm and found it to be a very large restaurant with open fires cooking the meats inside the restaurant within view of all patrons. Our group of 20 was shown to our bench style tables, nicely decorated and containing some nibbles whilst we waited to order. The restaurant was soon full and our orders were taken, a free drink given to everyone and we all commenced enjoying ourselves. The meals were typical Croatian food with an emphasis upon large serves of roasted meats accompanied by vegetables. I had been to a similar restaurant in Dubrovnik and found the food very similar. All in all it was a most enjoyable evening and a pleasure to be able to enjoy local food.

Favorite Dish: The highlight of the evening was the lamb in the bell, roasted within a bell on the fire and buried in the hot coals. On the first photo you will see the bell covered in coals. This is a favourite traditional Croatian meal.

    Eat, whatever you get

If you are looking for something extra ordinary in this park to eat in, you are at the wrong place.
There are few restaurants and they all are very basic. If it is summer time or peak season, get ready to stay in the queue for at least fifteen minutes.
