by acemj Croatian beer wasn't anything to write home about. but you might want to try an Ozujsko, which is a lager-style. In fact, most of the beer I saw was in the light lager style. Leave a Comment

Trogir backstreet by ChrisAlexander Getting lost is the best way to discover a new place. And following the locals can help. I soon found myself in Trogir's residential back streets and was startled on my way by the sounds of a heated domestic argument from the open window of one of the houses. There was shouting soon followed by the sound of a woman sobbing, and, much to my shame , I stopped to listen along with a bored looking young girl leaning on the window ledge of a neighbouring building. The look on her face seemed to be saying, "They're at it again." (Sorry, no picture.) Leave a Comment

Alley cats in Trogir by ChrisAlexander It took me almost until the final day of my stay in Trogir to capture these two on camera. A pair of very active cats in the neighbourhood around the apartment where I stayed. Leave a Comment

by Tenen This is called 'samar', it is put on a donkey so that is used as a means of transportation. It is also nicely adorned and decorated in ethno style. This picture originates from Knin, and it is 'nicked' form Zagreb Museum of Ethnology. Leave a Comment

UNDERSTANDING COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY by matcrazy1 . There are not many public toilets in Croatia even in touristy places. If you find one, expect to having to pay a small fee. So, always carry some small change on you. You can always find public toilets in the train stations, in bus and petrol stations, in bigger supermarkets. An easy solution to find a place to go when nature calls is to look for the nearest hotel or fast- food restaurants (a rule which you can apply in all the cities all over the world). . Bogoviceva ulica by croisbeauty Just like their meals, Croats like to draw out a drink of coffee as though they hadn't anything better to do. A typical day can involve three or more coffees in the morning, noon and night. Cafe is the place where locals prefer to pass the time and makes for a common meeting place for both business and pleasure. When warm weather hits it is amazingly common to see half the city population sitting outside chatting the day away. So, when you come to Croatia, sit back and relax. Leave a Comment
