Enjoy Sibenik and visit the Krka Natural Park

by diamond7

Sibenik is an important and tourist town in central Croatian coast. It is a nice place to visit, as is really a pleasant and typical town. After all, is just from Sibenik that depart the buses toward the very beautiful Krka Park. Well, the first "rule" for any person visiting this city, is just going to waterfalls of Krka, one of most beautiful places of Croatia, So enjoy Sibenik, but don't lost the possibility to see that amazing natural Park and its wonderful waterfalls.

BiH

by acemj

Bosnia and Hercegovina is Croatia's next door neighbor and from Dubrovnik, it's only a two hour bus ride (less than 10 Euros) to get to Mostar, one of the most devastated towns in BiH as a result of the turmoil of the 1990s. It you're looking for a different cultural experience and a totally different feel, I'd recommend a sidetrip.

Visit in the old cemetery in Zagreb

by manil51

The old cemetery in Zagreb is very unique one. You can find here side by side christian, muslem and jewish graves. You can also find here the most important figures of former Joguslavia and many other who has enough money to buy a place to be buried here. Its a good place to stroll and relax from the city.

Lukovo

by JLBG

South to Senj (20 km), you will find a road sign for Lukovo and a steep, winding and narrow road. If you take it, you will tumble down to the sea. When entering in the village, the road become even narrower and suddenly you are on the quay and there is no space to park and hardly to make a U-turn ! If you are able to make a U-turn, you will go back, park at the entrance of the village and walk down to the port. Actually, you should not have tried to drive in the village : the place is loaded with cars but, as it is a very, very small place, that does not mean that it is crowded with people. That's the good thing !A real nice place to spend a day !

Your own island

by ChrisAlexander

Find a quiet island. I stayed on the coast in Trogir, but escaped to the island of Dnevnik Veli, the larger of two islands linked by daily boats leaving from Trogir. There you'll find quiet coves, olive trees and old churches. Find your way along the path that leads away from the harbour and up onto the hillside and you'll have to hike along a stoney track under a scorching sun, but the reward is some great views down to the bay. Boats from Trogir leave from in front of the Concordia hotel and tickets from the quayside office.

A holiday in a lighthouse???

by lichinga

Yes! That sounds a wonderful idea to me, and in Croatia they organised so taht it may be possible to book and be "abandoned" in a lighthouse . I would love to visit the small island of Pelagruza, right in the middle of the Adriatic sea, nothing close to you (well, "close" is to be intended in European standards, I mean). Follow this link if you want to know more: Croatian lighthouses.
