    The portal of the co-cathedral is in particularly beautiful and in a way unusual for such a big church. The doorway has one wing only. Richly adorned portal, in neo-Gothic style dominates the whole front facade of the structure.

    The co-cathedral dominates the whole city centre of the town and could be seen from the far distance. It is the tallest building in Osijek and very probably the tallest in the whole region of Slavonija. Imagine the view from its top in particularly if knowing that Slavoija is predominatelly very flat area.

    This is a lovely souvenir shop inside the hotel of Bizovačke Toplice. There was a great variety of beautiful souvenirs at affordable prices. It was open also on Sunday, although there was a note "I'll be right back" on the door! :-) I loved the most a beautiful ginger bread heart in lovely packing!

    Slavonians are very hospitable people, very friendly and warm hearted! I was so welcomed by parents of my friend, we had a wonderful lunch and chit chatting, it was very pleasant staying there and I felt at home!   • Slikarska kolonija (painting colony)

    The Catholic church is organizing a painting colony, where paintors from the area are working on their art for a bout a week, and then it is sold for charity, for helping poor people. The event is held in the church area, there is a lovely estate and pleasant surroundings.

    There are still mines in the area. As we drove between cities, we passed men in hazard suits, with metal detectors and dogs, clearing a field. An ambulance was parked next to them.

    This is a wonderful natural resort of intact nature and wildlife. Flora and fauna is so exuberant here.   • Valpovo

    Valpovo is another cute little town, about 20km from Osijek. It has colourful houses, a little river passing through the town, a nice castle, lots of cafes... It's a typical Slavonian plain town. There are even some oil fields around! Thorough information you can find on the website below, there is an English version as well.

  • Dvorac (castle) Prandau-Normann

    The castle fortress was built around 15th century. It played a significant role in the history, especially during Turkish attacks, since they ruled these areas in 16th and 17th century. Very near the fortress is the Prandau-Normann castle (although it seems like a villa more than a castle to me) and a beautiful park.

    There is a huge complex of 15 pools in Bizovačke Toplice spa, there are pools with hot thermal water, as well as "normal" pools. There are also slides and all that fun stuff for kids. The largest pool is big olympic pool and it's not crowded so you can swim freely!
