Starigrad Things to Do

The Gradina (ruins) in Starigrad are situated on the very top of the hill which makes for a great 1/2 to 1 hour hike depending on how fast you like to walk. The are also ruins of a church as shown in the picture. I don't know how old these ruins are but they look like they have been there for a very long time.

At the top of Gradina you get a full 360 degree view of Starigrad, the island Rab and other islands along the coast. My tip is to go up there around sunset, the views at this time were breathtaking.

A local guide can take you on a boat tour of the surrounding islands. The islands which he takes you to are Rab, Goli otok (old mens prison), Grgur (old womens prison) and Zavratnica (shipwreck).

You probably will not catch much fishing from the banks in Starigrad but it would keep the kids occupied for a little while. Most of the fish caught in the area are from boats.

All you have to do is get the key from the owner and pay a small fee. Then you can play tennis with the great backgound setting of Starigrad.
