Standing in the wonderful Peljesac peninsula, this small town of Ston surprises by its long and strange walls, from where the sights spread over the salt mines.

Makarska is referred as the Croatian Riviera and it is beautiful, but we just rushed across it. Enough, anyway, to see its landscape and seashore (not so pretty as Peljesac, in my opinion!).

One of the favorite spots for youngsters, Hvar it's a pleasant place, with good conditions for bathing. We only saw the main city, but my sons and friends spent a couple of days in the opposite side of the island, in a cheap and very nice place (I can't convince them to write in VT!)

Almost a miniature of Dubrovnik, Trogir is a wonder. Easy to visit, it's another mandatory point in Central Croatia. Best of all, the sights from the sea.

This ocean resort near Sibenik makes me confuse. The thousands of people enjoying the night showed the popularity of Vodice, but in front of my hotel, swimming was a nightmare. I couldn't check the beach, but I don't believe it would be possible to attract so many people if it didn't have the necessary conditions. Anyway, I must confess that Vodice was my worst experience in Croatia.

Travelling is always a pleasure, but it is better when things work well with all the group. We were the only Portuguese in a Spanish group, but quickly there were no strangers, and joy was the law. Nice fellows! Though my Spanish is awful, my experience says tha Spanish are the most joyful people in the world, nd we cannot get bored travelling with them.

Sibenik joins the advantage of being a very beautiful town, with its situation by the National Park of Krka, another absolutely must see. We didn't have much more time in Sibenik then the expressly needed to visit St Jakob church, Unesco heritage, but I think that we saw the essential of the city.

The name Saplunara comes from the Latin word, sabalum, that means sand :-)There are two sand beaches, a larger and smaller one, on the kilometre-long cove. As the largest remaining coastal sand habitat in Croatia, Saplunara hosts several plant species that exist nowhere else in Croatia. As such, it is considered a "protected area" with signs begging you not to litter or camp. Can you beat that??Sobra is the main point of entry to Mljet Island (16 kms) with year round daily car ferries to Dubrovnik. Solves your ferry problem :-)http://www.croatiatraveller.com/southern_dalmatia/Saplunara.html
One of the highlights of Central Croatia, Zadar is a must see, halfway from Rijeka and Split. Standing in an island, if you are not travelling by boat as we did, you may book a ferry in several places.

When I get to Krk island (going by car), the first impression was that everything there is so dry and ther scenery isn't as I was expected, but going further after about 20 minutes drive I was surprised - the view which I saw was spectacular (see in the pictures)...I became at the most wanderful beach where I have been ever...And in that day I and my friends we was looking exaxtly what we have found there - it was Baska - a nice, little town with pebble beach, small restaurants next to it and turquoiseblue water!!!
