Low Cost Airlines

by bobuk

There are now severla low cost airlines that travel from the UK to Croatia, so even if you are not traveling to Croatia from the UK, you may opt to have a few days in the UK either side of your trip to Croatia and you may even save money on your overall air fare. Here are a couple :-WizzAir : (London Luton to Split and Zabreb) although Luton is not actually in London.http://wizzair.com/travelinfo1.shtmlEasyjet : (Bristol and Luton to Rijeka and London Gatwick to Split)http://www.easyjet.co.uk/EN/routemap/

No free parking on Krk island

by Whitevanman

Njivice on Krk island was lovely little coastal village with a small promenade and a few restaurants. But only 10 or so parking places and guarded by a keen attendant armed with wheelclamps. 7am to 9pm it cost about 2 kuna or about 1.5 euro per hour. Baska was the same all blue parking bays and pay parking. They're upto it in Croatia!

Croation costal road

by Whitevanman

The Croatian costal road is cut into the hillside and without bridges totally follows the winding coast. For the most part does not have adequate cash barrier which means crazy drops down onto rocky coast. The roads are good in places but mostly poor with crumbling edges and plenty loose surface and potholes. Flat land for parkup is very rarely come by and usually already taken. The roads down to costal villages tend to be very narrow and awkward to negotiate.

Traveling within Croatia

by Judy1087

Make sure you do not purchase tickets from Croatian Airlines too far ahead of time. There is a purchase time limit in order to keep the fares lower for the residents of the country. What I did was order the tickets online immediately before leaving the United States, and pick them up at the Zagreb airport upon my arrival in the country. Also, if you have a very early flight out of the Zagreb you can spend the night in the airport, contrary to what I was told originally by Croatian Air representatives. Although uncomfortable, it eliminated the need to find transportation to and from Zagreb at inconvenient times and the cost of a room for a short time.

Flying Croatian...

by polardabar

Croatia Airlines is the official national air carrier in Croatia, with OU as its international code. They operate on numerous flights to & from Croatia: Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Munich, Paris, Rome, Sarajevo, Skopje, Vienna, Zürich, Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, Madrid, Lyon, Milan, Düsseldorf, Hannover, Hamburg, Berlin, Stockholm, Göteborg, Warsaw, Moscow, Athens, Istanbul & Tel Aviv, as well as around Croatia: Rijeka [RJK], Pula [PUY], Zadar [ZAD], Brač [BWK], Mali Lošinj [LSZ], Dubrovnik [DBV], Split [SPU], Osijek [OSI] & Zagreb [ZAG]. There are daily flights to larger European cities & connections to other cities. The main, biggest & most important airport [although small, poor & old] is Zagreb Pleso located 17 km (11 mi) southeast of the city center [with a bus connection from Zagreb Bus Station], but during the summer there are often flights via other Croatian...

Flying Around Croatia

by polardabar

Since competition has [luckily] made air traffic pretty affordable lately, I would advise flying charter companies or low cost airlines. The prices can vary immensly, but if you buy the tickets in advance, you can find some incrediby cheap flights! So I'll just put some links for you to ckeck out the airlines flying to [or at least near] Croatia, so you can try to find tickets & deals that best suit you...Adria AirwaysAerLingusAvroCheapFlightsEasyjetFlights4LessFly4LessGermanWingsHLXLTUNorwegianOnlineTravelRyanairSky EuropeSkyScannerSnowflakeWizzAir

Driving Around Croatia

by polardabar

Croatia's bus network is far-reaching, but the prices can get pretty high. Buses run between Zagreb & several cities in Hungary & Germany, as well as Amsterdam, Brussels, G?teborg aso.Trains are about the same prices [or sometimes even higher] & although more comfortable than the bus, they tend to be slower... They connect Zagreb to Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bosnia & Hercegovina, Slovenia & Serbia & Montenegro [and further to Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey aso.], while ferries link Croatia to Greece & Italy. If you can get where you're going by ferry, then do it - cruising the Adriatic islands certainly beats sitting on a bus, no matter how cheap or fast it is. Jadrolinija ferries ply the coastal waters all the way from Pula to Dubrovnik, to cities & larger islands. If you buy a ticket for the whole trip, you can stop off as many times as you want for up to a week's time.Travellers with...

Bus Zagreb/Dubrovnik

I don't recommend travelling late at night in winter because of the snow on the road. You could feel the back end of the bus sliding on the road. Though the driver was very careful which made me feel a bit better. The thing I liked most were the heated seats!Timetable:Zagreb-Dubrovnik07:0007:3019:0020:3021:0023:55Dubrovnik-Zagreb06:0007:1507:4516:3018:0021:0019:00

Dubrovnik/Split Bus

by blint

The bus between Dubrovnik and Split costs 101 kuna not including luggage. There is no train that goes between these two towns so bus is therefore the best mode of transport. I was also very happy with the drivers driving skills. I never felt uncomfortable. The roads are good though a little winding a times!!! It takes you along the coast so you get to see some beautiful countryside. The timetable is:Dubrovnik-Split5,5:30,6,8,9,10,15,11,13,15:30,16:30,17:30,18,19:45,21Split-Dubrovnik03:20,03:30,04:15,5,06:15,06:40,7,8,08:30,10,11,13,13:30,14,14:30,15,16:15,17:15
