Boat trips are very famous in Croatia. Tucepi is surrounded by several islands like Hvar, Brac,... and close are bigger cities like Dubrovnik and Split, so there are a lot of possibilities where to go. The boat stops on its way somewhere, people can go swimming or see sights and then it continues in its way. As any other activities, you can buy the...more
Biokovo mountain belongs to 10 nature parks of Croatia. It begins near city Brela and ends behind Podgora (along the cost). The highest mountain lies in the middle and is called St. Jure (1762 m). The mountains rise straight from the Adriatic sea and it is an extraordinary view on blue sea and white mountains with olive trees. Interesting is, that...more
The Tucepi boardwalk has many restaurants and most are busy at dinner-time. It seems that Gostionica Nautica, located directly across the harbour, is a bit too far along the strip and is not very busy. This is indeed a shame since it serves excellent home coked meals. The sourroundings are lovely with mature palms above the dining area. Be...more

Every Thursday a Fish dinner takes place in the open air in the harbour of Tucepi. It is great experience for two reasons. First you can taste the fish being cropped in Adriatic sea, local food. The fish is mostly served with either white bread or french fries and lettuce and also wine. Second, there is always music and some performances, so the...more
The most famous croatian traditional dance is called KOLO. The dancers have traditional costumes and dance in the circle. In Dalmatia it is also a dance LINDO and then couple dances. There is a stage in the centre of Tucepi and almost every evening there is either music or dancing.more
The best transport for short distances, from one town to other (for example Tucepi to Makarska), around Makarska riviera is taxi. It goes time to time, mostly every hour, and you just wave and the taxi stops anywhere. The taxi is a van for 9 people. If you are not sure if it really stops, wait in the bus stop.
Tucepi-Makarska: 10 min, 12 kuna
As the town is just a touristic place, souvenirs can be found in every corner. All starting by things to the sea (beach-balls, shoes, air-beds...), things from the sea (shells, sea-urchins,...), jewelery, clothes, pictures, postcards, ending by food gifts is possible to find in shops along the whole seaside.
What to buy: There are nice pottery and big pictures. This is what i have bought, a bottle with painted olives for olive oil and a very big picture of an old house next to the sea. These things were cheap, f.e. the picture was 50 KN.
What to pay: Some things are a bit overpriced, but not always and everything.
The water is very beautiful and fantastic to swim in, but do be aware that most beaches are rock beaches, not sand. Bring sandals, flip flops or similar otherwise you could experience problems with walking.
Podstup is a small village above Tucepi. There are only few houses. There is nothing so much interesting, except the theatre, which arranges performance every saturday evening and is open-air. I like the houses. Podstup is just a village on the way up to the mountains, you pass through. It is worth to come here at least for the view on the sea.
Adriatic sea is amazingly clean and blue, it is the best for snorkeling. The only problem is that there are not many animals to sea close to the beach. People can go snorkeling themselve or, i havent tried it, but there is a company Butterfly Diving, which arranges trips by boat around Tucepi (Hvar, Brac, Podgoda, Baska Voda). The instructors lead...more
I don't know much about sports activities, especially how to call them. There are several places, where is possible to rent some kinds of boats and jet-ski. Price for jet-ski is crazy, i dont remember exactly, but i thought it was too much. Then you can try parachute, which is tied to a boat, a round way was 250 KN, banana tied to a boat for 5...more
