The best transport for short distances, from one town to other (for example Tucepi to Makarska), around Makarska riviera is taxi. It goes time to time, mostly every hour, and you just wave and the taxi stops anywhere. The taxi is a van for 9 people. If you are not sure if it really stops, wait in the bus stop.
Tucepi-Makarska: 10 min, 12 kuna

As the town is just a touristic place, souvenirs can be found in every corner. All starting by things to the sea (beach-balls, shoes, air-beds...), things from the sea (shells, sea-urchins,...), jewelery, clothes, pictures, postcards, ending by food gifts is possible to find in shops along the whole seaside.
What to buy: There are nice pottery and big pictures. This is what i have bought, a bottle with painted olives for olive oil and a very big picture of an old house next to the sea. These things were cheap, f.e. the picture was 50 KN.
What to pay: Some things are a bit overpriced, but not always and everything.

The water is very beautiful and fantastic to swim in, but do be aware that most beaches are rock beaches, not sand. Bring sandals, flip flops or similar otherwise you could experience problems with walking.

Podstup is a small village above Tucepi. There are only few houses. There is nothing so much interesting, except the theatre, which arranges performance every saturday evening and is open-air. I like the houses. Podstup is just a village on the way up to the mountains, you pass through. It is worth to come here at least for the view on the sea.
