Favorite thing: The main attraction both during and at the end the festival is the election of the King of Iz (“Biranje Iskog kralja” - 03 Aug 2003). This is a tradition dating back to ancient times, where the oldest of the inhabitants draw matches “zbice” to see who will be king, are then crowned and receive all the insignia of a king. This custom is connected to the Roman tradition of bacchanalia and saturnalias. The coronation is followed by traditional folk songs and dances.
