Just keep normal caution, Croatia is a very safe country to visit!
Take the hell care of mines, especially in the bosnian/serbian/montenegrenian border region! Don't debate about politics!

In Zagreb there are quite a few beggers, many are women with babies or old men but are nothing to worry about.
Don't park illegally. The Croatian cops will tow your car very quickly, especially if it's a rental car!! After a quick payoff, you'll be back on the road.
When seing a scenery like that - do save on your film, ok? And don't drivel.

Some remote areas of Croatia, even though safe and welcoming, remain uncleared of landmines. It is unwise to stray into fields or abandoned villages.
