Finally, Novi Zagreb is getting its first indoor swimming pool. It has just been built and there are still some works to be done, like some landscaping around. Since it’s not yet officially open I have no details about the opening time or the prices.
The pool is situated in Utrine, south of the Gymnasium. You can walk there from Avenija Dubrovnik.

Lake Bundek is a nice place for sunbathing in the spring or summer. There are people fishing all the time, although I’m not sure if there is any fish (I guess the Fishermen societies first put some fish inside and then fish for it).
You’ll also see some brave people swimminh here, although Bundek is not as popular as Jarun lake on the other side of Sava river. There are no special polluters but there are also no regular checks of the quality of water so decision whether to swim here is up to you.

Both banks of Sava rivers are enclosed by huge embankments since Sava has a very irregular water flows and often used to flood – they were built in 1970s, after the catastrophic flood in 1964. Sometimes you don’t even see the river since on both sides there are huge retention basins 100 metres wide (300 metres in total).
Along the south bank of Sava, on the Novi Zagreb side, there are several kilometres of those embankments making them ideal for walking, jogging or cycling. It’s especially beautiful in the sunset.
