I visited this museum in 2004 and was very impressed by its exhibits. The permanent exhibits include a Prehistoric collection; an Egyptian collection, collections from Greek and Roman and Mediaeval departments and an exhibit of the Numismatic collection. The big draw, of course, is the real mummy, kept in a refrigerated room. The mummy is accompanied by the longest preserved text known in the Etruscan language. The papyrus, written in hieratic, was damaged, but from the legible sections it could be deciphered that the name of the mummified woman was Nesi-hensu, and that she was the wife of Paher-hensu, a "divine tailor" from Thebes.
