This square-shaped castle, which was recently completely reconstructed, features the inner yard with arcades and four prismal towers on each corner. The castle is surounded by a ditch and has embrasures. There is a beautiful garden around the castle but now it is in a very poor conditions. Leave a Comment

Above the entrance, with a Baroque portal and coat of arms from 1752, there is a high tower. Under the tower there was a chapel of St. Lucy, patron Saint of Turopolje region, in which assembly meetings of the Turopolje aristocracy used to be held. Leave a Comment

The Baroque Castle Lukavec is situated nine kilometres west of Velika Gorica and it is not easy to be find. When in the centre of Velika Gorica, you just follow the brown coloured indication to Lukavec, which is situated on the outskirs of the village Donja Lomnica. When in Donja Lomnica you can't miss it.
