The parish church of the Annunciation is dedicated to St. Lucy, patron saint of the Turopolje region and the town of Velika Gorica. t was built between 1686 and 1990, was restored in 1893 by architect Herman Bolle in classiscist style.Besides Museum of Turopolje, which is situated right opposite to the church, it is the only building in the town worth of note. Turopolje is region which is located in the close surroundings of Zagreb. Actually, it starts near Zagreb airport at Pleso.
Zavicajni Muzej Turopolja (Domiciled Museum of Turopolje) displays exhibits of the region from ancient Roman times to the present times, and it worth of visiting.
The museum is situated in the building which used to be the seat of Aristocratic Turopolje Municipality. This one-storey building square-shaped with a porch facing the park was built around the year 1765. It is also known as Turopolje grad. Leave a Comment

Andautonia Archaeological Park is situated in the village of Scitarjevo, about 8 km northwest of Velika Gorica and is the home of many valuable and important archaeological sites. Archaeologists are still excavating the site, but the park is open for the visitors.

Andautonia was the seat of an Illyrian tribe and later on it became a Roman municipality. The town was built in the shape of an irregular hexagon.
