The put is on the edge of a park and it is perfect place to put your delicate tush down in. A great place to get the romance back into bloom.

Favorite Dish:
Seafood from Adriatic, in particularly fresh fish, prepared in the traditional Dalmatia cuisine. Do not miss to taste mussels, shrimp, lobster or black risotto.
This place is an institution in Zagreb, it has long tradition and it seems like time has stopped there. They serve fresh cheap fish, calamari, potato and beans salad. All kind of drinks. It is fast, not fast-food fast, but fast enough. Prices are extra cheap (fish=13 kunas, potatos=10, calamari with pommer frites=20...)
You should defenitely stop there for a quick bite. The place still has that socialistic aura.
Favorite Dish:
Fish and potato salad.
Since I love Japanese food, I've visited many Japanese restaurants. But this is definitely the most beautiful I've seen. It's beautifully furnished and has its own style! The food is just delicious and its staff very friendly.
Favorite Dish:
Everything!!!
Ribarski brevijar is relatively new-opened restaurant, specialized in seafood. It is situated in the heart of the town, just about 100m north of the Cathedral. You can't miss it, there is bus station for Mirogoj right opposite to it.
When in seafood restaurants you're well-advised to take the waiter advice, by the end of the meal you will be thanking him for it.
Favorite Dish:
Anything that comes from the Adriatic, it is undoubtely fresh and very tasty. Black risotto is exquisite for a first dish, as a second some fresh fish, octopus, squid or lobster. As previously already said, follow your waiter advice and you can't miss.
At the moment, it is the best seafood restaurant in the town, trust my judgement.
My recommendation is:
- grilled mussels
- fresh squid from Adriatic
- toasted bread
- Pinot grigio
and it cost me approx. 25 euros.
Open Mon-Sat from 12:00 to 01:00, closed on Sunday.
It was very busy when my associates and I arrived at about 10PM after arriving in Zagreb. They have a very nice menu with a lot of selections. And their wine list contains some good wines. The service was very quick, efficient and attentive.
This is a place to come and have a relaxing dinner when you are not in a rush. We were there about two hours relishing our meal and enjoying our conversation.
One warning to Americans, fish here are usually served with the heads still attached. Of course you do not eat them but do not be squeamish either. Just ignore the fishhead, and enjoy the rich cultural experience of this wonderful city.
If you planned a special dinner for you and your partner,it's the perfect place, especially during the summer. Wonderfull and peacefull terrace ambient with excellent food and great choice of drinks. It is situated near the Croatian National Theatre. A bit expensive, but you'll come out not regarding a penny.
Favorite Dish:
Everything...from their own baked bread (3 different kinds), fresh fish prepared on mediterean way and great, also home made pasta. ...
Although Zagreb is miles from the sea, fresh fish is popular and is flown into the capital several times a day from the coast. There are various restaurants specialising in fish, among the best of which is Murter , at Kaptol 27 (00 385 1 4817 745). Particularly worth trying is the black risotto, made from lignje
'Karaka' restaurant is one of the most famous meeting-places of the artistic,
cultural and business world in Zagreb. In 1994. the restaurant was awarded
by the city of Zagreb as the restaurant of the year. The interior consist of three
halls giving resemblance of the old sailboats that gave the restaurant its name
'Karaka' - the name for the old Dubrovnik galleys.
The restaurant affers rich choice of shells, crabs , new fish, squids, octopus
and other sea food specialties. Beside the fish specialties, meat dishes are also
offered, as well as the large choice of national and foreign wines.
Favorite Dish:
Fresh sea fish from the awen (fish in the salt or fish baked with potatos and spices)
Very mediterrean feel and even better small fish than the place I had them in Ljubljana.
Favorite Dish:
Great fried small white fish that we call smelts in the States.
