The small lake in the east has a pebbly beach, swan sanctuary and a lot cafes,bars, eating places and night clubs. The big lake behind the regatta course is perfect for a nice walk aroun the lake.

With summer knocking gently on the door,lake Jarun lake becomes a hit in Zagreb. It’s really numerous possibilities make it a perfect place for family-trips, sport,romantic walks and even night-clubbing. During day you can enjoy in walking by the one of he lakes (there are more of them), go to a drive on rollerblades or take a ride on a bike, play football, basketball or voolleyball on sand, take a bath in the lake on a hot summer day, sit for a cup of coffie in one of the many cafés, and go to a club on a party at night. As we know that Croatia has some beautiful beaches and unfortunately Zagreb is far away from beach so authorities have decided to establish a beach in Zagreb. Jauran has a very beautiful lake beach.

There exsit huge flock of red bill swans in the Jarun Lake, which is constantly increasing, year after year. This birds are very domesticated and loved by the locals, especially the kids. You can walk through the flock and they wont runaway in the water. Quite opposite of it, they approach to the people seeking for food. Buy a popcorns in a nearby shop and feed them. Leave a Comment

This is amazing water park and leisure place, you can run, skate, swim, suntan, sit in a caf? or restaurant or just enjoy walking around. It was beautiful to spend some time here with few VT members and get custom to the local coffee shops culture. Leave a Comment

Jarun is located outside from the main old city centre but it worth a trip. It’s all in one place to go, there is something for every one in the family. It’s mainly a large recreation and sports centre. It is made up of two lakes and in between those lakes four or five Islands are situated. Almost all the water sports facilities are available from swimming to regatta. There are few restaurant and bars are also available. Surprise, surprise there is a tourist information office is there as well where nice and English-speaking staff ready to help you.
