    Getting Married in Cyprus!

by greekcypriot Updated Nov 8, 2014

I have recently spent 4 memorable days at one of the Kanika hotels in Ayia Napa. Never before have I seen such a frequent sequence of weddings taking place in a hotel.*

Enchanting and romantic venues are set in the beautiful landscaped gardens amidst fragrant blossoms and tropical palm trees.
At a stunning fairytale setting set in a sunken garden, small lakes and romantic waterfalls are created, thus the Olympian Gardens remind a heaven of romance.

‘Kanika Weddings’ have become synonymous with romantic celebrations in all Kanika hotels across Cyprus.

Guests should only pick the preferred location and let the rest to the experts and be assured that their wish is their command…simply because they are professionals.

    Trees & wishes

by globetrott Updated Nov 6, 2010

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Strange "Wishing-trees" are another good reason to step up the steep and uneven steps to the chapel of Profitis Elias. Take a closer look at these trees and all the things, letters, bottles etc. that were fixed on the branches of these trees. There is even a sandal with some inscriptions about a soccer-event, someof these things might be a joke by tourists, but most of them are certainly ment in a serious way.

    The church of Profitis Elias

by globetrott Written Nov 6, 2010

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The church of the prophet Elias in Protaraswas built on top of a small hill not far from Cape Greco, you will find a small carpark there and hundreds of steps taking you uphill to the tiny chapel, that looks interesting from inside as well. From the church-terrace you will have a great view of the area and you will also see some trees there, decorated in a very special way, see my next tip !

    Local food

by kixon Written Apr 13, 2005

Cypriotc food is very special. We went to eat to a small cypric restaurang and tried the local food. I had lambstew, and it was really good, even though it was pretty tasteless, when I'm used to spicey food, but a nice experience anyway. If you want a lot to eat go to a cypriotic restaurang!
