In Ayia Napa taxi drivers unfortunatly don't follow laws, don't even use taximeters they just rip off their customers. They take advantage the fact that is a lot of demand and they are constantly bussy so they charge whatever they want to cherge. It's unfair that they can make 5000 CYP in one month; about 5 times more than the avarage person in Cyprus and they achieve that by just ripping off travellers. AVOID THEM.
If you ever use a taxi in Ayia Napa don't be damn ask them to use their taximeters; if they refuse then you got the right to pay whatever you think the real price is even if it's much lower of what he asked.
The best way to travel in Ayia Napa is to hire a bicycle in such way you can be environmentally friendly and distances are small, or a motor bike just like most locals and travellers. You can also use buses. Leave a Comment

Nissi Beach by cheekymarieh It is very overcrowded in the height of summer. You will find it difficult to get a sunbed unless you are there before 11am in July and August.
I recommend going out of season. From mid-September onwards it begins to quieten down. If you happen to be in the area in April or May, it is also fairly quiet.
Macronossis Beach ... thanks for introducing me to this one George! Or head to Konnos Beach off the road to Protaras. Leave a Comment

As soon as you've landed on the island you will be approach, both on the street, by the pool, on the beach and at your hotel room, by different people hired to do promotion and sell tickets for arranged parties around the island. Boat-trips, ladies' night, bbq-party, tex-mex party, beach party, foam party..the lot.. These people are paid after how many people they convince to buy tickets for the parties and will especially target newcomers/new arrivals.. just by looking at your tan or non-existing tan and how confused you look, they are able to spot you. Most of them will demand a deposit, you pay for part of your ticket or the whole price.. and they can be quite aggressive, turning up at your door several times a day to get you to buy tickets. They promise you food, drinks, photos, gifts...different things, sometimes you don't get what you pay for and if you do get anything it's crap.. champagne = local wine, drinks and cocktails = one large bowl of a bad mixture local spirits and juice.. etc..
If you really want to go to one of the arranged parties around the island, whether it's a boat-trip or a beach party, be sure to talk to somebody that has been there and can confirm that you actually get what you pay for or that it's worth the money. Most people will tell you to forget about it, because it's just a lot of crap.
Instead, go out and have fun, spend your money on restaurants, beach activities or clubs, at least you get value for your money.
