Brandy Sours Make The World Go Round

by cheekymarieh

The Cypriots have a traditional drink called a Brandy Sour. Even if you don't usually drink brandy, you may discover that you enjoy it. To make one:Place three or four ice cubes in a tumbler and add a measure of cocktail brandy (i'm assured Anglias is the best). Add a splash of lemon squash (don't make the mistake of using lemon juice though).Add 4-5 drops of Angostura Bitters and top the glass with soda water.Stir and serve with a slice of lemon in the glass.

A great place to chill out by the pool

by vichatherly

Plenty of winter sun, away from the storms of the UK. A relaxing place. I spent most of the time lying by the pool in the hotel, which is unsual for me. But it was so nice not to do anything, no walking for miles. The hardest thing you had to think about was what to drink to order, which was then delivered by the poolside waiter.

North and South

visit the both sides of the island. There is a Greek part and a Turkisch part, both so different in lifestyle that you instantly know in what part of the island you are. sitting at the harbour, enjoying the sun and drinking a cup of coffee.

The island of love

by tvdm

to visit the sights. Too many people stay around Larnaca or Ayia Napa to lie in the sun and go out, but there's much more to see and do. The island isn't big, so everything can be covered within a couple of days! Kourion was the first major sight I visited in Cyprus, and for me it had it all: ruins, great surroundings and no crowds. The last bit was easy as I visited Cyprus at the end of October...

I Felt The Earth Move

by cheekymarieh

Sleeping through an earthquake one afternoon when I was laid by the side of the hotel pool. I thought my friend was joking later when he informed me of the powerful quake that had rocked the island. They had another one a couple of years later when I was working over there (at 7.30am) and yes, I managed to sleep through it again!!!
