I visited Vikla Golf Club with my stag party on my stay in Limassol and can honestly say it was the highlight of my trip! Lovely friendly staff and a stunning location!
I'm not a proper golfer but the atmosphere was so relaxed I didn't feel out of place. We had a nice dip in the pool afterwards and a couple of frosty beers which was great on such a hot day!
The course is a bit stoney as I'm told it's very hot and dry in the summer and the grass dries out on the fairways, but the greens were good.
Equipment: There's no dress code and you can hire everything you need there so just bring some proper shoes and you should be alright.

Early in the morning - 6 a.m you will see many people walking up and down and excercising.
It is something that I love doing when I am at a beach resort as well. People get up so early because after 10 the sun is burning hot and it is dangerous.
You will see people walking again late in the aftrnoon a little before the sun sets.
There are beautiful long beaches on the island, so start dreaming about them!
Equipment: A pair of neakers, a cap and a pair of glasses are what you need.
A good sun tan lotion as well.
Cyprus is a paradise for cyclists.
I was amazed to see so many cyclists while I was on the island the previous time.
I was walking in Lofou, and there were groups of cyclists enjoying their ride. Spring is a paradise in Cyprus and they surely knew what they were doing. There was not a single one who did not greet me when passing by next to me! I thought how excited and happy they should have been.
Towards the inland the terrain becomes a lot more challenging, especially along the myriad cycling routes that crisscross the Troodos Mountains.
The Cyprus cycling federation organizes international mountain biking events attracting famous stars in the world o cycling to the Troodos mountains.
Equipment: Bicycles can be rented from the different clubs or other independent cycling places.
There are many horse riding stables across the length and breadth of the island.
Most of these stables offer a range of trecks for beginners and advanced riders.
I am listing a few major clubs below:
The Amathus Park Riding School, found at Parekklisia Village in Limassol.

The Elias Country Club:
Tel: +357 25 63 60 00
The Drapia Farm, found at the Kalavasos vilage:
Tel: +357 24 33 29 98
Up the Troodos mountains at the central square you can get information where the riding club is because there is a stable out there as well.
Hiking is very popular on the island particularly during spring when temperature is cooler and the landscape greener.
When you come to Cyprus try to find a Tourist office and provide yourselves with several booklets which are given free of charge. The contain full details of many interesting walks throughout the island.
Cyprus is a walker's paradise and lately I have discovered Platres to be one such.
The Akamas Peninsula in the southwest of the island is another breathtaking destination for unfogettable and exciting hiking vacation.
But of course if you find yourselves out in the countryside it is easy to find a nature path to walk.
Equipment: Be sure to have a good pair of shoes and a hat with you.
There is a nice pathway next to the beach in Limassol and it goes for miles.
It passes infront of the beach hotels and it is a nice and safe way to exercise.
I can't wait to go there myself on this coming trip!
