Ulasti Restaurant: Doener Salonu
This place appealed to me because it was cold outside and I was looking for someplace warm and inviting. It is very small, with a limited menu. There were lots of Turkish men eating lunch there. The main item on the menu were doner kebabs. I was reasonably assured given the small menu, the number of people, and the size of the restaurant that the food would be inexpensive and fresh due to the turn-over. The doner kebabs were very fresh and tasty. They were served with fresh, levened pita bread, rice, tsatsiki (yogurt sauce with cucumber) and salad. They did not serve any alcoholic beverages, so I settled for a can of soda. The price of the meal was 6.50 new Turkish lira or about $5. This was a quick lunch. Good food. Nice atmosphere. And authentic local experience. Sufficient to suffice under the circumstances. $1 = 1.3450.000 old Turkish lira $1 = 1.345 new Turkish lira
