Restaurant Eztiatopio, Troodos Mountains: A buffet Greek restaurant

by hopang

Restaurant Eztiatopio is one of the largest buffet restaurants, if not the largest, at Troodos Mountains. You can see the size of the restaurant as depicted in our photograph on the right. It serves mainly Greek buffet cuisines buffet style. The food is reasonably good, it has to be said. Certainly it is one of the best restaurants at Troodos Mountains although we knew that there are not many restaurants at Troodos Mountains. The restaurant caters mostly to group package travellers. When we were having lunch at the restaurant, almost all the diners came from several group tour buses. Greek buffet including Greek sallads

Pizza Express: Only good food we found around hotel-area

by Turska

We tried so hard to avoid pizzerias and so on,and tried to find good local food.At the second half of the week we gave up,nd went to this place, and had first good meal for whole week.Yes,it was"boringly"pizza, but at least it was good, and tasted something and not full of fat as all other we had ate.Or if we had chicjen,it had only salt, nothing herbs or peppers or so on-here food tasted something. It seems that today they also have pasta. If only we wouldn´t had to listen to terrible disco/tecno-music and very loud..But even so,we went for second time, too. Some spicy pizza with jalopenos and so on.

Tsaziki is allways good-there you can´t find fat!!!

Coral King: Amazing Set Meals

by rachel_sun

I have mentioned Coral King before as it was soooo good. Their mezes were wonderful. Anyway, I went back Dec 2007 with my parents who now live in Cyprus. We had a set meal. 3 course meal. I must say it was amazing. I had melon with parma ham which was tasty and my Nan had prawn cocktail which had lovely juicy prawns and tasted amazing. Dad had soup and the mains were as good. I had stiffado which was superb and Dad had steak with veggies and chips and everyone else had wonderful food. Some people had desserts too which were yummy. I was surprised at the quality and quantity of these set meals. They ranged from £7 for 3 courses to £10 for 3 courses depending on what u picked. I highly rec this place. The staff were very friendly and service fast and the atmosphere is relaxing and laid back. Drinks were good prices too. Stiffado was tender and very tasty.

Hobo's Cafe: Fantastic location and views

by rachel_sun

Hobo's right on Paphos seafront near the Fort is great. They have large sofas out on the pavement overlooking the harbour. I had a lovely drink sitting in the sun while watching people walking by and watching the boats etc. A nice relaxing but busy place to stop for a drink and chill out. Very trendy and the staff were friendly and polite and service was very fast.It does get busy and it maybe hard to get a sofa as everyone else has the same idea. Drinks were a sensible price dispite the location, which was a nice thing.

I'm a great fan of Greek food having lived under the same roof with three Cypriots cousins for two years. Some of my favourite Greek food are: Greek baklava(filo pastry with pistachio nuts), which is very popular in the Middle East, has it own special touch. Haloumi(goat's) cheese which is nice and chewy - perfect when its grilled or baked and doesn't seem to melt. Dolmathakia is a fragrant dish consisting of stuff grape leaves with meat and herbs. Soujoukkos is a very popular snack made of grapes with almonds in the centre - once tasted this chewy delicacy is seldom forgotten!

La Piazza: Quality & Class

by steventilly

La Piazza in Kato Paphos oozes class and quality. It's the kind of restaurant where they hold your chair for you to sit down and drape the napkin over your lap. The Maitre D' explains the wine list (if you require) and fillets and serves the fresh fish & lobster dishes for you at your table with an elaborate but efficient flourish. Your wine & water glass is constantly kept topped up, finished-with items removed and new ones brought (wife dropped her knife, a new one arrived in seconds without needing to ask). This doesn't mean that the service is intrusive, it's simply immaculate. So too is the food. High-class Italian-themed with a plethora of vegetarian options amongst the pasta and rice dishes. Given the quality of the food, service and surroundings the price is very reasonable too. Our meals came to £30 (Cypriot) for two, starters, mains, shared salad and wine. The second time we...
