This is a typical Cyriot tavern, don't be put off by the outside - the food is great. All freshly prepared and cooked. Meze and they also do take away. You will find a lot of intersting things to look at inside, old farming implements etc, it is really worth a visit. There is such a varied menu that it is hard to say which was a favourite - the dips are really good, nothing like what you can buy in the shops at home.
Trip up towards the Troodos Mountains and stopping off at "Maria's Family Restaurant" where the locals eat, it is on the main road right in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees. there are spectacular views of the Troodos Mountains and the valleys below.

ony's is a great restaurant and bar in Paralimni. The food is excellent with plenty of choice for everyone and great value for money. The staff all speak English and will do anything for you. Seating is available inside and outside on the terrace. There are also pool tables and a bar for when your not eating. Main dishes include an excellent choice of fresh seafood, various meat dishes (excellent lamb), pizzas, pasta and salads along with a wide choice of starters and desserts.....and a never ending cocktail menu....with some lethal staff specials that aren't written down!!

There are restaurants to suit every taste and every pocket.Apart from the traditional Tavern’s where Cyprus meze and other local dishes are served, French, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Lebanese Arabic, Thai and Mexican restaurants can also be found on the island. The quality of food is excellent and prices are reasonable.'Meze' , a rich collection of more than 20 different appetizers and savouries.'Tava', a lamb stew with plenty of onions and tomatoes'Stifado', a stew of beef or hare, cooked with wine, vinegar, onion and spices. The quality of Cyprus table-wines ranks with the best in the world and the great variety provides a match for every kind of food and every plate. The Nicolas Tavern is a 'traditional Cypriot Tavern-Restaurant with homemade specialities'. I came across this recommendation on the Paralimni website, so thought i'd give it a go. I was personally very impressed, although when my Partner wanted just salad & chips with his meal, the waiter insisted that he would really like the rice and vegetables. Not to my surprise, the waiter was wrong...the rice and vegetable (stew) were untouched!!! I will definately be visiting there again. The local house white wine served in a carafe was very good.

Pity no Turkish food on the list, Ý mean kebabs are well known all over the world by now. This restaurant had a nice shade from the hot son and the waiter was friendly and polite Doner kebab is very nice served with salad, chips and yoghurt..

We had a lunch at this restaurant, which was adequate but it was the brandy which made it memorable. Derek said it was the best he had tasted! We thought we had bought a bottle of the same Brandy, Sadly not...................We shall have to return! (~_~) Brandy!

Lizzie deciding what to have for lunch, chips & egg?, chips & sausage?, chips & fish?, chips & burger?, or chips & ???????? Joking aside, the food was of a very high quality with plenty of choice. The price was about the same as back here in the UK.
